Farms owned by National Livestock and Development Board (NLDB) will be developed under a Public –Private Partnership (PPP).

NLDB owns 31 crops and animal farms around the country and four large scale farms in central and Southern province have been developed with a large investment, but the other farms could not be developed due to difficulty in providing funds.

Therefore Minister of Rural Economic Affairs proposed to the cabinet to develop the farms under a public-private partnership and the proposal was approved by the Cabinet of ministers.

NLDB farms provide necessary assistance for small farm owners, as well as dairy production, meat and egg production.
