The Agricultural Machinery Division of Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) recently held their Mahindra Tractor Dealer Conference in Kochi, Kerala, India. More than 75 Mahindra Tractor dealers in Sri Lanka took part at this event which was held at the 5-star Deluxe Kochi Marriott Hotel where the Agricultural Machinery Division created history by organizing DIMO’s first event held out of Sri Lanka. Moreover, this is probably the first-ever Agri Dealer event for local dealers to be held out of Sri Lanka.
Dealers and Senior Management of DIMO flew to Kochi and were hosted at the elegant Kochi Marriott for 2 nights and 3 days. The grand event was held on Friday night at the main ballroom of the hotel. Sri Lankan Mahindra Tractor Dealers, DIMO Agri staff, DIMO Senior Management and Senior Managers of Mahindra Tractors India took part at the event.
The theme of the Dealer Conference was “Mamangam”- which represents an ancient celebration in Kerala. The entire event was conducted mainly in Sinhalese and consisted of three parts – recognition of dealers based on their performance and target achievements, launch of the new Arjun Novo and Yuvo range of Tractors and introduction of the Mahindra Tractor implements range. The new Arjun Novo can successfully perform a broad range of farming applications, with new high-medium-low transmission system and 15F+3R gears that offer 7 additional unique speeds. Mahindra Yuvo tractors are available in the 30-45 HP range, which have a high-tech control valve design and a 1500 KG lift capacity.
The event included speeches by DIMO and Mahindra Tractor representatives and dance acts by Kerala dance troupes. Mr Ranjith Pandithage (Chairman-DIMO), Mr Gahanath Pandithage (CEO-DIMO), Mr Sanjay Jadhav (Head of South Asia – Mahindra Tractors India), Mr Subodh Arora (Head of Products and Marketing – Mahindra Tractors India) and Mr Gihan Fernando (Head of DIMO Agri Division) spoke at the event.
Mr Ranjith Pandithage went on to mention, “DIMO Agri Division has performed very well in 2015/16 and surpassed all milestones. The success witnessed has been partly due to the contribution of our valued dealers. Hence we wanted to do something fitting to appreciate and recognize them. Thus we organized this extravagant event in Kochi.”
Mr Saji Varghese (Sri Lanka Country Manager – Mahindra Tractors India), Mr Amal Thilakaratne (Business Unit Manager – DIMO Agri) and Mr Yohan Thilakaratne (DGM – Corporate Communications, DIMO) were also present at the event.
Dealers were given the opportunity to do shopping and enjoy themselves at the Lulu Mall which is considered as the largest shopping mall in India spanning 17 acres. The dealers were hosted for cocktails on Saturday night by the poolside of Kochi Marriott.
DIMO Agriculture Division manages the entire range of Mahindra Tractors in Sri Lanka. Moreover, DIMO Agri is the only distributor for CLAAS Harvesters from Germany. DIMO Agri plans to introduce more world leading agri-related technologies and solutions to Sri Lanka to expand its portfolio.
