Huawei, Sri Lanka's fastest growing smartphone announced that its sales in the month of November reached LKR 500 million, which is an increase of 200% compared to FY14. A series of aggressive marketing promotion campaigns and the introduction of innovative products such as the G7 Plus, Y6 and the Honor range have propelled the brand to achieve this feat.
Huawei’s sole distributor Singer Sri Lanka PLC through its distribution and reach as well as its undisputed after sales service has facilitated this growth in Sri Lanka. At the start of November, Huawei Sri Lanka launched “Huawei Dream World 2015″, a seasonal consumer promotion targeted during the festival season. From the 1st of November till the 31st of December Huawei consumers will be eligible to win an exciting fully sponsored all inclusive world tour in Europe, Middle East and South East Asia. All one has to do is purchase a Huawei branded smartphone this festive season and stand a chance to explore their favourite destination. The competition has immensely boosted the sales volumes as the brand continuously reaches out to all parts of Sri Lanka.

The company earlier in September announced that it is aiming to become the number one seller of smartphones in Sri Lanka by Q4 FY16. As of end of Oct 2015 the South East Asia region overall smartphone shipment increased by 30% YOY.

Data from GFK one of the largest market research organisations in the world, show from March to September, Huawei was leading in China’s smartphone market with shares of 12.9%, 13.6%, 14.4%, 15.2%, 14.9%, 14.9% and 15.2% respectively; in August, Huawei occupied 27.5% in high end smartphone market pricing 3000 to 4000 Yuan, only next to Apple with 30.1% market share.
