Alpha Industries, one of the leading furniture manufacturers in Sri Lanka and a subsidiary of Finco group, celebrated its 52nd anniversary at the “Alpha Day” event organized at their Mattegoda factory premises recently.
Alpha Day is an annual event organized by the company to commemorate and pay respects to the founding fathers of Alpha Industries. The day is celebrated by bringing together all Alpha employees, providing them the platform to interact with each other and build relationships with team members in other factories and departments in a fun, informal environment.
During the event the most outstanding employees across various categories ranging from “Best innovation” to “Best attendance” were recognized for their consistent performances and extraordinary efforts during the year. An assortment of fun activities that encouraged the participation of employees was also put together with winners being presented with valuable gifts.
Commenting on this year’s Alpha Day, Mr. Priyanjith Weerasooria Managing Director of Alpha stated, “The Alpha Day has always been the most important day of the year for the Alpha family. It is the day where we all look back at how far we have progressed as an organization from our inception back in 1963. It is also a day where we get together as one large family, irrespective of designations or departments and learn to understand, appreciate and recognize every member of the Alpha family. Over the years, this special day has helped bring people closer together and I am happy to say that this togetherness has translated into a more positive and inspiring work environment during the rest of the year.”
