Austrian Airways has made arrangements to operate a direct weekly flight to Sri Lanka from October 27 this year, Civil Aviation Authority revealed,

 

This is a result of bilateral talks between the Civil Aviation Authorities of Austria and Sri Lanka at Bali Island Indonesia in November 2014.

 

According to the Authority sources, this will greatly help boost Sri Lanka's tourist industry, the Government Information Department said.

 

Austrian Airlines, sometimes shortened to myAustrian, is the flag carrier of Austria and a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. The airline is headquartered in the grounds of Vienna International Airport in Schwechat where it also maintains its hub. The company operates scheduled services to over 130 destinations worldwide and is a member of the Star Alliance.
